Mark McGrath
I met Mark in person for the first time in Nova Scotia in late spring of 2000, but we knew each other through various mailing lists, and the internet in general, before that. We both share a passion for languages and linguistics, and both found that passion originally through French and Tolkien. We're linguistics majors at Brandeis University now, and discuss things outside the classroom that most other people wouldn't follow in the slightest.

Jonathan: "I showed someone this picture and they said 'Whoa, how did you get Brandeis not to look like a post-apocolyptic wasteland?'"

Mark: "But you didn't show them this one. The background looks like a post-apocalyptic wasteland."

Jonathan: "But there's Volen in the background."

Mark: "Yeah, that's like the post-apocalyptic command centre."
